The Long Yang e.V. aims at creating places and possibilities for people from all over the world to find an access to the vast knowledge and ancient wisdom of the original Buddhist practice path. On this foundation, our work also includes social and ecological projects together with local partners in Nepal, in order to contribute to a holistic and sustainable development.
Origin and Commitment
Initiated by Tulku Khyungdor Rinpoche, Long Yang e.V. is committed to the promotion and preservation of the original Buddhist practice traditions of the Himalayas in order to preserve their benefits for the future.
The association was founded in 1997 as a non-profit organization with its headquarters in Munich, Germany.
For more than 20 years, the Long Yang e.V. has been deeply connected to Nepal, the country where Lord Buddha was born.
Supporting the preservation and restoration of old Buddhist texts and their translation is one of our most important activities. The association supports practitioners and masters in Nepal, India and Bhutan to help preserve Buddhist healing and wisdom traditions.
In cooperation with the local population and our partner organization we also have been carrying out social and ecological projects in various communities in Nepal for many years. After the earthquakes in 2015, we have been particularly involved in infrastructure projects for reconstruction.
Since 2012 we mostly have been active in the Suntakhan region in the east of Kathmandu. Together with our Nepalese partner organization Akasha Academy NGO, we are in the process of establishing the Akasha Academy Headquarters in Suntakhan according to the vision of Tulku Khyungdor Rinpoche. While the Akasha Academy Headquarters is being established in Suntakhan, Nepal, Akasha Academyis an international project intended to grow and expand gradually to further branches worldwide – as branches of an institute for holistic education and healing arts, rooted in the universal wisdom of original Buddhism.
In addition to our activities in Nepal, we organize public events in Germany such as (Buddhist) pujas and rituals, seminars and workshops for Akasha training as well as cultural and charity events.
