Realizing the Akasha Academy
Long Yang e.V. is a non-profit organisation based in Munich, Germany. The NGO was initiated by the Buddhist Master Practitioner Tulku Khyungdor Rinpoche in 1997 with the aim to create pathways for the future of our planet. Since then, we have been committed to realize the vision of TK Rinpoche to establish Akasha Academies worldwide.
What we do
With the focus on education, health promotion, female empowerment and environmental protection, Long Yang has been creating a lasting positive impact through projects and events in Nepal. Closely working together with our Nepalese partner organisation Akasha Academy NGO, we have built trust with the local population over many years. In Germany, we organise fundraising events to support our projects.
With rituals and teachings of original Buddhism in Nepal and Germany, we make the wisdom and benefit of these ancient practices accessible to people from all backgrounds.
Our team
The team behind Long Yang e.V. is a growing international community inspired by Tulku Khyungdor Rinpoche’s vision to create pathways for the future of our planet.
Our members and supporters are based in Germany, Belgium, Austria and Nepal. They make up an interdisciplinary team of various backgrounds in natural and political sciences, education, medicine, IT, law and economics. Working together for one purpose, everyone contributes their skills, knowledge and creativity to create a positive impact and bring Akasha Academy into life.

Background
1997
Long Yang NGO is initiated by the White Lama Tulku Khyungdor Rinpoche to preserve ancient wisdom of an authentic Buddhist practice path.
1997-2010
During the first years most activities in Nepal are focused on text restoration, support of practicioners in rural areas and support of the local infrastructure. In Germany, rituals and teachings of original Buddhism were organized to make the wisdom of these ancient practices accessible to people from all backgrounds.
2010-2012
First education, environmental protection and replanting initiatives start in the Kathmandu Valley in various schools.
2012
Akasha Academy, an institute of integrated education is established to create pathways for the future of our planet through education, environmental protection, health promotion and women empowerment. Realizing the headquarters in Nepal and other Akasha Academies worldwide becomes the main goal for Long Yang NGO.
2015-2016
After the devastating earthquakes in Nepal, Long Yang NGO supports the communities by water restoration as well as food and medicine emergency aid.
2016-2021
In Kathmandu, a vocational and skills development training for women and several environmental education projects are implemented. During Covid-19 pandemic Long Yang NGO supports the communities with food and medicine emergency aid and spreading awareness through health and hygiene training.
2021
TK Rinpoche gives first teachings on Universal Ethics - guidelines to apply common ground for the survival of humanity. The first year of Akasha Traineeship, an orientation program for young women in Nepal, starts.
2022
Long Yang NGO starts children's education programmes in Germany. The Global Guardians curriculum for kindergartens and prechools is being developed by the Akasha Education team. Second year of Akasha Traineeship starts in Nepal.
